5 Ways To Find Inspiration When All Your Content Ideas Have Dried Up!

Your branding is rapidly becoming less about you and much more about the value that you are providing others.

“Yes! Yes! We know, Sarah. However, sometimes our tired little brains just check out on us and leave us with a parched, empty, dried-out ideas pool…”

But, don’t panic, we have all been there and there are plenty of ways for you to fill the pool again. Here are a few that come to mind:

ContentGems is a content discovery engine. Everyday, it scans hundreds of thousands of articles from the best online sources and presents you a stream of relevant and timely content. You can find up to one interest for free, without having to subscribe to a monthly plan.

Buzzsumo allows you to type in any url or keyword and it will show you the most ‘socially shared’ content based on that subject. Sooo good for giving your brain a kickstart when you are running low on ideas.

Stumbleupon was a wicked tool for finding relevant & engaging content to share across your social profiles. It has now morphed into mix.com and basically does the same thing, offering you ‘a curated internet without the noise.’ You can pick the categories that you’re interested in, and it will feed you the most relevant articles from around the worldwidewebs that you can stumble through, one at a time. You can even use the Mix extension & add it to your Chrome browser.

Answer the Public is a really clever consumer insight tool that presents you with the combined searches from Bing and Google and visualises them in what they call a search cloud. These search clouds essentially provide an overview of the questions that people are asking on search engines, and they are cleverly organised into categories such as ‘what’, ‘where’ and ‘why’.

5. Your Audience!

And last but not least, don’t forget your audience! Some of the best brands today are built by really listening to their audiences, noticing and focusing on the things that they really engage with, and then developing them further. So, remember to reach out to yours on a regular basis and have your finger on the pulse. (Oh, that reminds me! I LOVEEEE talking about branding, so please do let me know if you have a branding question/topic that you would like me to cover!)
